Simple oat bar basic recipe – many possibilities

The simple oat bar basic recipe contains the ingredients that make the perfect muesli bar for me: hearty oat flakes for crunch, almonds and cashews, dried cranberries, nut butter and chocolate drops.

You can also vary the individual ingredients and adapt them to your personal taste.

You can use the quantities as a guide and swap out the ingredients. For example, instead of almonds and cashews, you can use the same amount of hazelnuts or walnuts.

For example, you can completely leave out or replace dried fruits and seeds.

You can also add spices such as cinnamon or vanilla to refine the taste or use cocoa powder to make delicious chocolate bars.

Do-It-Yourself energy bars – you need these ingredients

For your DIY energy bars you need these ingredients:

  • Oat flakes (preferably kernel ones)
  • Nuts (e.g. almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, etc. You can also mix two types together)
  • Cranberries (or other dried fruits/dried berries such as raisins, prunes, etc.)
  • Seeds (e.g. sunflower or pumpkin seeds)
  • Chocolate drops (optional)

You can also leave out dried fruits, seeds and chocolate drops completely.

You also need:

  • “Flaxseed eggs” to hold the mixture together (10 g ground linseed + 2-3 tbsp water make 1 linseed egg)
  • Coconut oil (melted; alternatively you can also use vegetable margarine)
  • Nut butter (for example peanut butter or hazelnut butter, cashew butter and white almond butter for a milder taste)
  • maple syrup (or other sweetener of your choice)

Make your own muesli bars without sugar – you can also do it sugar-free

The muesli bar recipe does not contain any refined or white sugar and still tastes super delicious.

Instead of sugarmaple syrupused. If you don't like maple syrup, you can also use another sweetener of your choice

For exampleAgave syrup,Date syrup,ReissiruporCoconut blüten syrup.

You can also bake your nut bars completely sugar-free and only use the natural sweetness from the dried fruits.

Dates, plums and apricots are particularly suitable for fruit bars due to their sweetness.

Here's how to bake your own vegan granola bars

I'll now show you how you can bake your own vegan energy bars in just a few steps. You can find the full recipe with ingredients below.

First, prepare all the ingredients. To do this, mix the linseed with the water and let it swell.

Chop nuts and dried fruits into small pieces. Optionally, you can also briefly roast the chopped nuts in a pan without fat.

This means they taste particularly delicious and aromatic. Melt the coconut oil in a pot with the maple syrup and nut butter and bring to the boil briefly.

Then set aside and let cool briefly.

Lightly grease the baking pan and line it with baking paper. The grease makes the baking paper last particularly well.

I also recommend that you crumple up the baking paper. This makes it easier to lay out in the mold.

Instead of a baking pan, you can of course also use oneGranola bar silicone molduse.

Then mix all the ingredients for your homemade muesli bars and distribute them into the mold.

Now it's important that you press the mixture firmly and evenly so that it doesn't break apart after baking.

Then bake in the preheated oven until golden. Then remove and let cool completely.

Only when everything has cooled down, cut into bars of the same size with a sharp knife.

You can store your homemade muesli bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 months.

However, I am sure that they will be plastered after just a few days 😉
